On Saturday December 27, Katie was a flower girl along with her cousin Jacie. My cousin Eli got married to his junior highschool sweetheart, Ashley. The wedding was very beautiful, and Katie looked darling in her little white and black dress. She had lots of fun practicing dropping her red rose petals down the aisle and when the ceremony began, she did great. It was a bit hard to sit quietly through the ceremony, as most 4 year olds would have trouble too. Nate and Anthony sat way in the back, in case Nate couldn't sit quietly and surprisingly he did very well.
Eli and Ashley gave Katie a Build-a-Bear that looks like a little flower girl too. She adores it and wants to take it everywhere with her. At the reception it was priceless watching Katie, Nate, Jacie, Christian and Issac dancing their little hearts out on the dance floor, while the adults sipped their drinks and watched on in wonder at children's delight in the little things. It seemed amazing to Anthony and I that it has already been 6 years since we were in that moment. I can hardly believe it has been six years, and yet, there are times we feel like we have always been together.
